Meet Your Guides:
Sam Lee: A trailblazer in the British music scene, Sam's passion for conservation and folk music will inspire and uplift you throughout the retreat.
Luke Massey: With a heart led by rewilding and a keen eye for wildlife, Luke will guide you on a journey of discovery and wonder.
Wild Finca: A sanctuary born from passion and dedication, Wild Finca has transformed from a defunct dairy farm into a thriving ecosystem, home to 113 bird species, 30 mammal species, and flourishing flora.
Your Accommodation:
Hotel Posada del Valle: Nestled amidst 9 hectares of diverse habitat, this ecological haven and art hotel will be your sanctuary during the retreat. Indulge in delicious home-cooked meals made from fresh garden and locally sourced produce, fostering a deeper connection to the land and its bounty.
Proposed Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive at Hotel Posada Del Valle, be welcomed with a fireside gathering, and set intentions for the transformative week ahead.
Day 2: After a hearty breakfast walk to Wild Finca for a tour of this wildlife haven. Engage in forest foraging, share stories during a folk hour.
Day 3: Embark on an overnight adventure in the Cantabrian Mountains, dine under the stars, and listen to the nocturnal serenade of the wild.
Day 4: Traverse the wilderness trails, looking for signs of bear and wolf and the other wild animals that call this place home. That afternoon return to Posada Del Valle for a welcome back dinner.
Day 5: Participate in a Wild Finca animal move, after a picnic lunch head to the coast for an explore, and savour a bush dinner under the open sky.
Day 6: Bid farewell with a closing ceremony, take a scenic walk at the iconic Sueve Natural Park, and carry the spirit of Wild Finca with you on your journey home.
Travel Information:
Flights: A transfer to Hotel Posada Del Valle is available for the following flights:
Arrive Sunday 19th October: 11:40 Gatwick departure, arrives 14:40 Oviedo.
Return Friday 24th October: 15:10 Oviedo departure, arrives 16:05 Gatwick.
However, there are numerous ways to travel to Asturias, with airports in Oviedo, Santander, Bilbao, and ferry ports in Santander and Bilbao. Please let us know if you will arrive by separate means and we will send directions.

Read about Sam’s trip last year to Romania, in search bison, to get a feel for the tracking and immersion you will experience. Expect more creature comforts in Asturias with soft beds for all nights but one!
Luke spent a few days guiding us on a tailor made itinerary which he adapted according to what we saw and the changing weather conditions. His fantastic local knowledge and great eyes ensured we didn't just see all of the species we were looking for, but also got some superb sightings.
