We recently enjoyed a guided group tour of Wild Finca, much to the amusement of a Spanish friend who declared that there was so much that was wild in Asturias that you didn’t need such a project. How wrong she is, as Luke explained so clearly. It was a wonderfully informative snd entertaining morning with our excellent hosts and I´m hoping to repeat the experience with friends and family in June. Thanks a lot for everything, Katie, Luke, and the boys. Your project is truly admirable, and we can sense your passion and commitment to rewilding. It's very inspiring. 

Luke took the time to explain each part of the project thoroughly and answer all our questions. The boys were amazing at spotting tracks, insects, and edible flowers. Katie was extremely communicative before and during the whole process to ensure it all went smoothly.

Katie and Luke have created an amazing space for wildlife here in Asturias. During the open day it became apparent how much thought has gone into the planning and development of this wildlife oasis, and I am full of admiration for the vision and hard work that they’ve put into Wild Finca to make this happen. Luke and Katie have created something very special indeed - Wild Finca is a rare sanctuary to so much ecology. In three days I saw Hobbies, Peregrine Falcon, Egyptian and Griffon Vulture, Booted Eagles, Honey Buzzard and I even heard a Nightingale croak, plus so much more! Having followed Wild Finca since the days of the Self-Isolating Bird Club, when Luke gave us a few tantalising films about his life in Asturias Northern Spain, when an opportunity arose that we were passing on a road trip to and from France I jumped at the opportunity to visit.

It was hard to choose from the wonderful visit, but my best moment was the great views of Grasshopper Warbler, that had actually just bred at Wild Finca. Highly recommend a stop off if ever you are passing. -Jill and Pete Yeoman

Wild Finca is ‘managed’ with a light touch entirely for nature - and it shows. Luke and his lovely family are doing important work in helping to preserve and protect this fantastic landscape. Luke spent a few days guiding us on a tailor made itinerary which he adapted according to what we saw and the changing weather conditions. His fantastic local knowledge and great eyes ensured we didn't just see all of the species we were looking for, but also got some superb sightings. He answered our many questions both before and during the trip, and is so passionate that he even continued to advise us on where to look for other creatures after we'd moved on. Luke's in depth knowledge of the general area, species locations and even individual animals was abundantly clear. In our relatively brief time there he enabled us to get great views of Wolves, Bears and Wildcats along with many of the local birds we wanted to connect with including Bearded Vultures!
